Omgosh, like I said, I am so bad at this! Buuut, it's good for me so I'm trying! Bare with me!
Ok, so tonight I'm gonna answer two questions because I need a break from my homework and I'm trying to curb my Facebook addiction...
1. Tell where you went to school- list teachers, subjects, friends...
Well, I started at Sunshine Nursery School, where I met my two best friends in the world. Two incredible people who I am blessed to still have in my life. I don't remember my teacher's name, but I do remember her face. She had gray, curly hair and was tall. She was average build and was always very nice. She played games with us and encouraged us to use our imaginations and forced us to take naps! haha
After that, I went to Chelsea Elementary but only for a little bit because my parents thought I wasn't being challenged enough.
Soo, I went to St. Augustine's until the end of 2nd grade- kind of a blank period in my life but I was such a trouble-maker. I used to kick boys in the yoohoos and jump the fence and pretend to get hurt for attention. I peed my pants on purpose. I ran away from sschool. Faked chicken pox...yeah I was awful. Sorry!
Then, I went to St. Mary's and I became an angel. I was the teacher's pet and always involved in everything. I remember Sister Rachel. I loved her, she was tough, but man, she was awesome. I loved Mrs. Lacasse, also tough, but she was always so happy and chipper.
I had Mr. Hickey in 7th grade and I loved him. He was hilarious, we used to play jeopardy to review for tests and had a trusty weather-stick. So many fun times.
8th grade was all about Mrs. Chamberland who taught me how much I loved to write. She called me at home to ask if I had started a paper and said she knew I hadn't. She also told me that she wouldn't take anything less than perfect. She made me write and rewrite, but I honestly am so grateful. Writing has since become a therapy for me, she taught me to love writing and how to express myself with words. A very powerful skill. Thank you.
I also remember being a mathemagician (yes, I know), what this really meant is we weren't smart like the pre-calc kids so we got put with Mrs. Moore and did a whole lot of Algebra, so we named ourselves the mathemagicians.
Oooh and Mr. Bourque (I doubt I spelled that right)...the gym teacher all the girls had a crush on! oh boy
Matt and that creepy doll with the black eyes! The demon haha and pointing it at people, throwing stuff out windows, breaking a window omgosh
I remember the adidas clan, the rolled socks, skirts, and unbuttoned blouses that would drive Sister Barbara crazy. We were a crazy class, but man, we had fun.
I remember crushes on Steve, Marc, JB, Joe... omgosh haha I am cracking up thinking about the stuff that I will never print LOL
High school was good, good ole' Cony! Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Beaudoin, Mr. Michaud, Mrs. Tripp, Ms. Roberts, Mr. Small, Mr. Wells, Mr. Anastacio (sorry if that's wrong), Mr. Holland, Mr. Fylstra, Mr. Harvey, oh gosh I know I'm forgetting like a million people... uugh Mr. Gerry Wright, the genius and my favorite piano man! Birdie, best times ever, Mrs. McGough, uugh I can see faces and not names, they're on the tip of my tongue so sorry! Coach Hinds, Mr. Dacus, Mr. Brawn, oh boy.
Chizzle Wizzle, Homecoming, sneaking to the clock, falling through the ceiling LOL, late nights on the stage, backstage laughs, bathroom breaks, late night rehearsals, late night studdy sessions, Calloway Coffee House, Have a Heart, Mads, Ends, Ariel, Jordan, Mike, Danielle, Alyssa, Trisha, J, T, Matt, Alan, Bobby, Elizabeth, Nic, Matt, ERay, France, Adam, Spain, tylenol in chorus, chorus that never ended, sleepovers (JAT), singing at the Opera House (MIKE), National Anthems until my face goes blue, solos, being obnoxiously loud in the library and getting away with it because Mr. Small loved us, the shop, FC, FH, LAX, Tennis, quitting French senior year(gosh, I wish I had listen to your advice Mr. McNeil, buuuut I knew everything cos I was such an expert), stealing a brick on the last day..., privileges, sneaking out, getting out of detention when we didn't deserve it, bio, Alex, SI, getting pushed off a tree by Ricky going "hope you learned how to self-belay", doing the walk, the catwalk... OMG THERE'S BLOOD EVERYWHERE!! FIGHT!! haha wow wow I could go on forever
College...still happening...save that for another day, the history is still unwritten
2. What is the longest you went without sleep? How did you feel? Why did you lose sleep?
OMGOSH!! I know this one haha welll, it was my senior year and the boys from London wanted to go on an adventure so we did and I went with them to the tennis courts, we put out a blanket and just chilled under the stars for hours talking about life, being crazy and all that jazz...welll I had to take them back to camp for curfew which, we barely made. Denholm and I played a game of frisbee golf...lost all the frisbees cos it was wicked foggy and we had no idea where we actually threw half of them. Iain and I had an intense convo that night (you found what you were looking for, I'll never forget that night, Love you like a brother) Gosh only knows what James and Jon were up to... ;)
Well, I got home and was on such an adrenaline high that I stayed up talking with someone for the remainder of the evening, and next thign you know, it was tiem for me to get up and go to camp myself...annnd it was a sleepover night, which at that time meant you didn't sleep. We stayed up all ngith playing pranks, covered in dirt crawling around in all black, commando style, scaring the bejesus out of the newbie counselors...then we had a full day of camp the next day.
Soo I went almost 72 hours without sleep. It was amazing though and I would never change any of it. I felt invincible.
Ok...enough blogging, back to homework! I promise to not be such a stranger!
Later xoxo

I Am Not Your Doormat
So sorry I haven't blogged in a while! I have been so busy at camp and forgot all about this for a while, not to mention that I had to get the screen on my laptop replaced! ugh what a rough couple months.
Ok, so first of all, I would like to say that when I make mistakes, I am the first one to own up to them. I am not perfect and I think anyone who claims perfection is only deceiving themselves. I screw up on a pretty regular basis, but I am a firm believer that if we never fail, then we never appreciate our success. So, I will admit I made a really poor decision this weekend while visiting friends in the city. I chose the wrong friend and let them down. I let myself down too. I think that sometimes you take advantage of friendships and don't realize how much they mean to you until you jeopardize them. I have not often been in this situation; I would like to believe that I rarely make the decision that makes me feel awful.
I am sorry.
As for the person I chose. I am upset. I feel let down and deceived. I feel like they play both sides and somehow never end up having to own up to their role in conflicts and as far as I am concerned with friends like that I certainly will never need enemies. This is why I have lost respect for this person in so many ways. To lie to my face and then put all the blame on me... honestly I do not feel you are worth the confrontation which is why I will not confront you about it, but if you ever try to BS me again I can promise to call you out on it.
People often confuse my kindness for a weakness. I would like to consider it my strength; I try to see the best in everyone and forgive very easily. However, I do not forget and refuse to be your doormat. This was not the first time and I'm sure that if I allow it, it will not be your last time either. That is why you lost my trust and once lost it is hard to gain back.

My Mom
"What are the things you love and admire most about your mother?"
I don't even know where to start.
My Mom really is my hero. She has so many redeeming qualities that I hope that I have inherited from her. She is such a strong woman. She has been through so many things in her life that would devastate most people and cause them to quit, but my Mom kept going. She raised my sister and I to be ladies and to always strive for success. She taught us respect and high morals.
My Mom gives love in a way that I have never experienced from anyone else. She gives unconditionally and never judges my sister and I; she knows everything and yet she has never judged. She may say she disagrees or wished we had chose differently, but she has never stopped being proud of us. When she went through her divorce she worked three jobs to support our lifestyle and to stay off welfare. She fought for us.
When she met the love of her life, she entered him into ours cautiously and I honestly believe that is why my sister and I love him as much as we do. She understood that time was the only thing that would ever make the bringing together of two different families successful. We were never forced onto each other.
Lastly, my Mom is just so good at being a Mom. So good in fact, that she is also an amazing friend. She never tried to be our friend- it just happened. I hope that someday I can be like that with my children.
I LOVE YOU MOM!

"I wish I had a enough money to..."
...NEVER HAVE TO WORRY
I don't need millions, but I do enjoy nice things. I would love to be able to say, 'hey let's go to Bermuda for the weekend'. I get stressed out about money and providing for myself. So, all I would ever ask for in monetary means would be enough; enough to be happy, enough to travel and enough to provide for my family.

"Describe a childhood Christmas"
Well, I remember that we would always play Christmas Carols and decorate the tree together. My Mom had these figurine villages and people that we would set up around the house; the nativity that was my Grandmother's would get placed under the tree and we would hide Jesus until Christmas morning; there was this really cool thing we got in Disney one year that had all the Disney characters an it was a hanging decoration that would sing Christmas Carols and all the characters would pop out, alternating turns singing the tunes.
I don't remember any one Christmas in particular, but I remember that it was the happiest time in our house growing up. My Dad would be around and my Grandparents would always come over in the afternoons and have dinner together. I remember the smell of coffee, french toast and pine. It doesn't sound like the most appealing combination, but I loved it.

My Dads
"Tell about your father- personality, characteristics, statue, coloring, talents, temperament, family stories about him, etc."
I have two Dads... my real one and my step, whom I call Dad too.
1.) Richard, my real Dad.
Well, we have a complicated relationship, which I do not feel comfortable discussing on here, because it's an emotional thing for me.
He is a good man, with good intentions, but not always the best approach. He has a good sense of humor, even though we don't always see eye to eye. He has black hair, dark brown eyes and dark olive skin. He is naturally muscular. He loves to sing and gets stressed easily sometimes.
What I remember most about my Dad growing up was that he loved sports. Sometimes I felt like he should have had sons instead of all of us daughters. I hated team sports as a kid and would cry whenever my parents forced me onto a team, but my Dad has a really natural eye for talent in sports and a really great coaching ability. I think he eventually was ok with me choosing the arts and drama over an athletic team.
2.)Bill, my Dad.
Bill cracks me up. He is honestly the best thing to ever happen to my Mother. He has a great sense of humor with one-liners that just kill me! He is hard-working, driven for success and an absolute Type-A businessman, which is where I think I get the same traits. He works out everyday on his elliptical and does his crunches afterward. He is blond, blue eyes, and has fair skin. He love country music and to sing along with the radio. Bill O'Reilly is his absolute favorite show. He is pretty easy-going and goes with the flow and big on respect.
Hilarious story from the first time we went out to dinner with him and some of our family friends! We went to our favorite Chinese food, Lucky Garden, in Hallowell, and he HATES Chinese food. Well... he not only cracked jokes about us eating cats the whole time, but he also made meowing noises every time he touched his food. I remember kicking my Mom under the table and giving here the, "THIS is the guy YOU'RE in LOVE with", look. I was mortified, but looking back...it was hilarious. Also, his advice on boys and their 'lil Johnnies' is priceless, and unfortunately ususally alarmingly accurate.

Sunshine Nursery School
"Tell about your first day of school and any classmates you remember. Who was your teacher?"
Hmm well, honestly I don't remember much about Sunshine Nursery School, but I do remember three of my classmates: Jordan Richards, Marc Beaudoin and Rae-Lynn Cronau.
1.) JRich and Rae are my two closest friends in this world. Jordan was super sweet with her curly brown (hard to believe, I know) hair and a smile that can make anyone feel welcome. Rae and I were destined to be friends. Our Moms knew each other from before they were married, got pregnant around the same time and well... the rest is history.
2.) Marc Beaudoin... wow where to begin? I mean by our relationship today, you would have no idea that we were ever as close as we used to be. I spent more time at that boys house as a kid. I remember playing in his 'no-girls allowed' treehouse; him playing with GI Joes and me trying to convince him that they needed to marry my barbies; fighting over who gets to keep the turtle- the one who found it or the one who's property it was found. Fun times and many great memories.
Oh and SNS, as we called it, was great for giving me my start in my love of performing. I got to be Jill in our Jack and Jill skit and acting and singing has been a passion of mine ever since. I also remember the kitchenette set that made me realize I could never be a housewife...I hate the whole domestic woman thing. Oh and the mini-rugs we all had to use for 'nap time', which I never participated in; think the annoying child that makes it near impossible for every other kid to sleep...that was me. Oooh and I cried...EVERYTIME my Mom would leave...I was such a Momma's girl...still am! Love it
Wow, this is the most scatter-brained post to date, but I guess it's appropriate for a post that requires recalling memories that I didn't even think I could remember to begin with.

Giggles
"Tell your favorite joke, or about something that makes you laugh"
I actually laugh in the most awkward situations. For example, whenever I get hurt, I always end up giggling uncontrollably. When I get nervous I can never keep a straight face and same thing for when I'm extremely uncomfortable. My little sister got hurt one time and I actually had to leave the room at the hospital because I couldn't stop laughing and crying. It was bad. Same thing when I broke my wrist... The doctor thought they had given me light general anesthesia because I was laughing so hard.

The Day of My Birth
"Tell any interesting stories about your birth, how was your name chosen, etc."
I was born to be a total Momma's Girl. For one, I was born via C-section only because I refused to turn around. I was a breach kid who refused to budge. I was also born with a scar below my bottom lip that is identical to one my Mom has from falling down when she was a kid and her teeth went through her lip. Not to mention our matching freckles, moles, and incidental finishing of each others' thoughts on a regular basis. As for my name, I was named for my Great Uncle, Erik and my Mom, Joyce. AND my birthday is one day after my Grandmother's.

Change?
"Are you pleased with what you look like? If you could change any part of yourself what would it be and why?"
Well, first of all, I don't think there are many women in this world who look at themselves everyday and think: I am perfect! So, I will not even attempt to say that I love my appearance all the time, but for the most part I like the way I am. Yes, I am always trying to lose 5 or 10 more pounds, but what girl isn't? I have curves and a total acceptance of the fact that I will never look like the skinny models in magazines.

Let's Talk Clothes...
"Describe your favorite clothes"
I am so far from picky when it comes to name brands and things like that, but i must say that purses and shoes are my biggest fetishes. I love Coach bags. I would buy every bag in every color from every collection they have ever designed if I could. I like them because they have a classic feel with a modern touch. As for shoes... anything will do. My biggest complaint is when the fabric is not sewn well, because then it rubs against your feet the wrong way, giving you blisters the size of Texas. I love sneakers, wedges, platforms, stilettos, boots, flip flops... you name it!
As far as clothes, I am most comfortable light-weight denim straight leg jeans and a cute top with any of the shoes listed above! I love to dress up too; dresses are the most flattering thing on any woman because I think it accentuates our curves and with a nice pair of shoes, our lovely legs too!
HOWEVER... the fit is EVERYTHING!! I cannot even emphasize the number of times I see a girl and think, "if you had only bought the next size up". I mean confidence is great, but humility can be great too.
Yeah... those are my thoughts on clothing... as for accessories... CONCEALER is a girl's best friend!

A Story of Friendship
Alright, I pinkie promised something more upbeat and you got it. I am actually feeling quite inspired by my favorite novel/movie ever, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
I relate to Elizabeth Bennet. She is the one who seems indifferent to men and their mild attempts at flattery, craving intelligent conversation and someone who is as unabashedly hopeless for romance as she is. Mr. Darcy, well, I have no equivalent in my life for him, but I too would love to meet a man who surprised me and could woo me without his even knowing it. Love I feel is something that cannot be bought or won; love is something that grows with the proper nourishment and patience. Most of all, love is a friendship. For once the looks and vanity are gone, what else do you have but an astounding friendship, respect and admiration for one another?
Marriages do not last in today's world and I feel that most of the reason is because people marry for all the wrong reasons. They marry for the passion, the flame and the false impression of a love that will stand the test of time; what they are missing is the companionship. The greatest lover are also the greatest friends. They already know your flaws and have already grown to accept them; they know what makes you tick and what fights are and are not worth the argument; they know not only who you are, but who you were, and from that they can see beyond the present and understand the direction you are going, nearly guaranteeing a happier life together. We have said c'est la vie to marathons and grown into sprints, not to be cliche, but have we not learned that slow and steady wins the race?
I will end with one of the most romantic love stories I have ever known:
Once upon a time in a small Massachusetts town, Lowell, a two best friends went to college and met the loves of their lives. They were in each other's weddings and their children grew up knowing each other. Well, one of the men ran off with another woman, leaving his wife and her children. His wife was a brave woman, who refused to be made a fool by an unfaithful husband and being quite modern for the late 1950's... she divorced him. Meanwhile, the other man's wife got very sick and ended up passing away. He ran into his former best friend's, now ex-wife, and found out what had happened. They went out for dinner and decided to help each other out with their newly 'broken' families. Within 3 months, he got on one knee and asked her to marry him. They moved to Maine and lived happily together until the day they died. They were my Grammie and Popeye.
My Grandmother always said that it is just as easy to fall in love with the wrong man as it is to fall in love with the right one.
I think she was right. She and my Grandfather were best friends and I honestly believe that it the key to finding the 'right' one.
xoxo

Do Nice Girls Really Finish Last?
Ok, so every one always says: "Nice guys always finish last", newsflash: So do nice girls!
I have always been rather shy around people I don't know very well, but with guys I simply go catatonic... I mean don't get me wrong, I have plenty of guys that are friends, and with them I am my normal, can't keep a straight face self. BUT if I like a guy I am totally different. Suddenly, there is a frog in my throat and my knees don't seem very stable; I am essentially useless. I forget where I left my cool.
Honestly, sometimes I wish I could be more like that girl who laughs and has a different man every night of the week. Not that I would be happy with that lifestyle, but the confidence those girls seem to have is admirable. Not to mention that men adore those girls, even if it is just for the romp session.
Girls like me, who wait and don't put out get called prudes or are instantly placed in the friend/advice columnist category. I mean after all, nice girls are wives...not girlfriends. It gets frustrating and not that I don't mind being single; I actually LOVE being single. I just wish that guys would see that nice girls can be interesting too.
Ok, so that's my rant of the day. I promise to keep it more lighthearted in my next post.
Pinkie Promise.

The Perfect Autumn Day

"Describe the perfect autumn day and what activities you would enjoy"
A cool, crisp breeze on an Indian summer day would be ideal.
I would wake up early, pack a picnic lunch and go on a hike on a Mt. Katahdin in Maine with my family. Pulling out the picnic when we reach the top and can see the foliage below and spend a couple hours enjoying the view. After the hike, we'd visit with my Mom's sisters in Bar Harbor and enjoy a nice evening, including a cookout with family before driving back home. Oh, and of course, Chance would be with us since he loves long car rides and adventures.
Mmm I love Maine

Aladdin and Vacations Anyone?
Question of the day:
"Who is your favorite cartoon character?"
This is easy. I always loved Jasmine from Aladdin. She was the feistiest of all the princesses and a free-spirit. No man, even Aladdin was gonna pin that girl down. Plus, she knew how to speak her mind; she is a great example of a modern woman.
Alright, that was too easy so we'll do another question today:
"Do you enjoy your everyday life? What is it like?"
Yes, I love my life even when it gets totally hectic and I wanna pull my hair out. The way I see it, I work all week, giving everything to everyone else, and then Saturday and Sunday are mine and mine alone. I have a week vacation coming up and I am pretty sure I am going to spend it entirely on a date with my pillow.

The Oldest Child
Ok, so this is my first post that's not for school and it is kind of weird, not gonna lie. I feel kind of vulnerable in a strange way, but I also find this sort of exhilarating! I've always kept a journal. My Grandfather gave me a jar full of ideas for entries when I was a kid, so I have decided that I will use this blog as place to use them.
And the lucky thought of the day from the jar is...
"How did you like being the oldest, youngest, or middle child? What were the advantages or disadvantages?"
Hmm... this is an interesting question because at different points in my life I have been all three. Long story short, I come from a broken family so I was the youngest for a while and then the oldest, and after my Mom remarried I became the middle kid. BUT truth be told, I have always thought of myself as the oldest kid.
I enjoy being the oldest child, yes, it's not fun being the example for all of the mistakes you make in the learning process, but it is rewarding to watch the payoff. My little sister is my world. I would do anything for her and she is seriously one of the most amazing people I will ever know. She is so much more secure with who she is than I ever was or even possibly know how to be and she is has such a level head on her shoulders. I hate watching her grow up, especially cos she is going to be 18 this summer, after all she is supposed to be my little sister and have ringlets and curls forever BUT I could not be more proud of the woman she is becoming AND I would like to think that it might have a teeny, tiny bit to do with me being a good role model for her; that is truly rewarding.
